Lesson Overview
Overview | Activity Objectives | |
Opening Activity | Learners will learn about the different stages of Life cycle of plants by performing a virtual experiment. |
|
Main Activity | Learners will create a 3D simulation of all the stages of the life cycle of plants they have learnt in the classroom. |
|
Closing Activity | Learners will go on a walk in a nearby garden or park and identify different stages of plants, and reflect on the outcomes with their peers. |

Prior Knowledge
Learners should have:
- Basic familiarity with the concepts of plants, their growth, and the environment.
- A passion for exploring nature and utilizing technology creatively.
Lesson Objectives
Learners will:
- Identify and describe the key stages of a plant's life cycle.
- Explain the importance of each stage in a plant's growth and development.
- Apply their understanding to create a 3D simulation illustrating the plant life cycle.
Learning Outcomes
Learners will be able to:
- Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the various stages involved in the life cycle of a plant.
- Communicate the significance of each stage in the context of a plant's growth and environmental interaction.
- Design and develop a 3D simulation showcasing the plant life cycle, accurately representing each stage.
- Display enhanced creativity and technological skills by creating a visually engaging and informative simulation.
Pre-lesson Preparation
- Like all lessons on Eddy, this lesson follows a specific approach. If this is your first time implementing an Eddy lesson, check out our 'How to set up an Eddy Classroom' for more information.
- Prepare necessary logistics in advance.
- Printouts of Student's Handout- one per team
- White sheets, black markers and scissors.
- Prepare necessary technology/hardware in advance
- Devices (tablets/laptops/Chromebooks/computers) - one per team
- A stable wifi connection.
The life cycle of plants lesson introduces learners to the process of growth, change, and adaptation of plants. Learning about these stages helps them understand plants better and sparks creativity and imagination. By the end of this lesson, learners will know more about how plants grow and have an incredible 3D simulation to show!
